Dr. Jim FitzSimons
Dr. FitzSimons has over seventeen years experience serving the companion animals of Cumming and the surrounding communities. A graduate of the UGA College of Veterinary Medicine in 1996, Dr. FitzSimons is experienced in emergency medicine as well as general practice. His areas of special interest include senior pet wellness, internal medicine, and oncology (the treatment of cancer). He and his wife Jennifer enjoy scuba diving, hiking, and travel. His furry family includes Edy and Angel.
Dr. Heather Harkins-Barroso
Dr. Heather Harkins-Barroso was born in Port Allen, Louisiana near Baton Rouge. She attended the Louisiana State University School of Veterinary medicine. She was awarded "Excellence in Surgery and Medicine" prior to graduating in 2006. She was then accepted into one-year internship at Carolina Veterinary Specialist in Greensboro, NC. She joined Cumming Veterinary Clinic in 2010. Her special interesst in veterinary medicine include preventive behavior disorders, internal medicine, and dermatology. She lives in Johns Creek with her husband and two daughters, and two dogs Lucy Lou and Barkley. She enjoys outdoors activities such as camping, hiking, skiing, and whitewater rafting, Her favorite camping trip was to Glacier National park in MT.
Dr. David Martinez-Jimenez
Dr. David Martinez-Jimenez was born in Spain, where he completed his veterinary degree in 2002. After graduation, he performed several externships in exotic pet, zoo, and wildlife medicine in Spain and the United Kingdom. In 2004, he completed a Master's degree in Wild Animal Health at the Royal Veterinary College and Institute of Zoology of London. He then moved to the United States, where he completed an internship in exotic, zoo, and wildlife medicine at the College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Georgia. Prior to joining the CVC team, he has worked in private practice and zoo medicine. Dr. Martinez has several publications in scientific veterinary journals, book chapters and has presented in veterinary meetings. He loves veterinary medicine as a whole but some of his areas of special interest are internal medicine and surgery, ultrasound, endoscopy and cardiology. Dr. Martinez and his wife (also a veterinarian) enjoy time together taking care of their two daughters, two Chihuahuas (Alfie and Pippin), one Shih Tzu (Sprinkle Donut) and one cat (Makenna).

Ann Williams, LVT Head of Technician Services
Ann Williams is our head of the technician department. She is a registered Veterinary Technician. She has been at Cumming Veterinary Clinic since 1995. She loves animals and she could not imagine doing anything else as a professional career. On her free time, she enjoys walking with her two dogs (Bella and Pebbles) and reading on the couch while snuggling with her four cats (Smudge, Cappuccino, Java and Bean).
